Capacity Building Workshop on "Effective Management of Non-Formal Education through Data Driven Approach and Utilization of NFEMIS" for managers was organized in collaboration with JICA Office, Lahore.
Overall Objective: To implement the project on literacy & NFBE effectively
Specific Objective:
1. To analyze the literacy & educational situation and to explain the national, international and provincial policies on Non- formal education.
2. To develop capacity in management according to the guideline of NEF
3. To apply the action plan of data-driven management in literacy & NFBE (planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation)
4. To mobilize resources & ensure the participation of stakeholders
5. To develop an action plan for follow-up training and implementation

NEF Provincial Office Set up a Stall in the 5th Karachi International Book Fair on December 11 , 2009 .The book fair was inaugurated by the honourable Minister of Education Mir Hazar Khan Birani.The NEF stall was visited by the honourable Minister/Chairman NEF and Senator Maula Bux Chandio.The event will conclude on December 14 ,2009. |

Adoption of 540 Social Action Program (SAP) Schools by NEF on 15th September, 2009.
Education department Gilgit Baltistan requested National Education Foundation to adopt these 540 SAP Schools to ensure their sustainability.
An agreement between National Education Foundation and Education Department Gilgit Baltistan has been signed by the Honorable Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Federal Minister for Education on behalf of NEF and Governor Gilgit Baltistan on behalf of Education Department on September 15, 2009. |

Seminar on International Literacy Day 2009 held at Marriott Hotel, Islamabad organized by National Education Foundation in collaboration with UNESCO & World Food Programme (WFP) Pakistan.
The Honorable Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Federal Minister of Education Chief Guest and Mr. Bashir Ahmed Abbassi, Managing Director NEF addressed the audians. |
| Six days training for newly appointed Deputy Directors/Assistant Directors conducted in Regine Inn, Karachi from17 th – 22 nd August 2009 |
Six days training for newly appointed Deputy Directors/Assistant Directors conducted in Regine Inn, Karachi from17 th – 22 nd August 2009 ; as directed by Managing Director National Education Foundation. 19 newly inducted officers participated in the training.
In order to ensure optimum achievement of desired objectives and to attain interest of trainees for obtaining organizational objectives trainers used different methodologies.
On each topic trainer gave lectures with the help of already prepared presentation. Organizational set up and background of BECS Project was shared with the participants for their orientation and initial knowledge which was necessary for further proceeding of the training.
Discussions on topics related to the session were generated to induce maximum participation of trainees. During discussion trainer got an opportunity to understand weak and strong areas of participants and thus concentrate on the same for better capacity building. Discussion also generated on participatory approach.
Questioning is considered a unique tool in learning process therefore trainers asked questions to the participants. In question answer sessions chance was given to the participants for clarity on their queries on the topic.
Participants were divided into group and each group was assigned topic. They discussed their assignments and prepared presentations after discussion with mutual consent.
Group leader from each group presented their work in front of all. After the presentation question and answer session started to get their opinion on the topic.
