Vision:
"To extend welfare services to the Federal Government teachers and their dependants through the provision of monetary assistance" Background
In 1997 Federal Teacher Foundation (FTF) was merged with National Education Foundation (NEF). After the merger of the Federal Teachers Foundation in 1997 with National Education Foundation (NEF), NEF was mandated with the task of providing scholarship to the children of the teachers and financial assistance to the widows of the teachers, working in educational institutions under the control of Federal Ministry of Education. Monetary assistance is provided from return of endowment fund which was initially Rs. 20 million.
Objectives
- To motivate the children of in-service, retired or deceased teachers of Federal Government
- To provide financial assistance to children of in-service, retired or deceased teachers of Federal Government
- To provide financial support to the widows of teachers, working in educational institutions under the control of Federal Ministry of Education

Similarly widows who are getting financial assistance are further divided into two categories:
Employed Widows
Unemployed Widows
Eligibility Criteria
- Widows and children of teachers from BPS-4 and above working in FG Educational Institutions under Federal Ministry of Education
- Children must have obtained a minimum of 60 % marks in their respective courses
- Children studying in Educational institution recognized by HEC / registered by Government
- The beneficiary shall not be receiving stipend from any other organization except scholarship for academic excellence/distinction or aid from Zakat fund.
- In case of failing in examination the scholarship will be stopped.
- Scholarship is provided to only one child of FG In-service teachers. In case of retired and deceased FG teachers, two children are entitled for scholarship from NEF.
- Final decision for eligibility will rest with NEF.
Applying Procedure
In order to accommodate new beneficiaries advertisement in leading national news papers is floated by mentioning eligibility criteria. A prescribed Performa is issued in this respect, which can also be downloaded from our website www.nef.org.pk
Achievements
Presently we have 351 beneficiaries including 332 students and 19 widows. Financial assistance is provided to said beneficiaries semiannually. |
